Even while serving in the military, BTS's V continues to shine with his global popularity as he sets a new streaming record on Spotify.
As of February 4th, V's solo songs on his Spotify profile have exceeded an impressive 2.2 billion streams. This includes a total of 18 songs, featuring tracks from V's solo album "Layover," solo songs within BTS's albums, drama OSTs, V's self-composed tracks, and the collaboration "Wherever U R" with American neo-soul singer UMI.
V's solo album, "Layover," itself has surpassed 1.15 billion streams on Spotify, making it the fastest Korean-language album to achieve this feat and the second fastest solo K-pop album overall.
Among the tracks, V's title song "Slow Dancing" from "Layover" has reached an impressive milestone with over 292 million streams, while the pre-release track, "Love Me Again," has surpassed 389 million streams, becoming V's most-streamed solo song and the eleventh most streamed K-pop solo song overall.
In addition to his musical accomplishments, V, who enlisted in the military last December, received commendation as a "Most Elite Trainees" for his excellent performance during basic military training. He is currently undergoing further training at the Korea Army Academy and is set to serve in the Military Police of the 2nd Corps (Double Dragons) and will be deployed to the unit on February 8th.
