Big Hit Music has announced its decision to take legal action against those responsible for defamation and malicious online posts targeting BTS. In a notice released on April 28, 2024, the agency shared its commitment to protect the rights and well-being of the K-pop group's members from harmful activities.
The notice highlighted that the company has observed a worrying increase in organized efforts to tarnish and slander BTS. These activities include attempts to defame, humiliate, and ridicule the artists, as well as spreading false information and rumors about them.
Big Hit Music views these actions as a serious violation of the artists' rights and has pledged to take decisive legal measures in response. The company is working with an additional law firm to strengthen its existing legal protections and is actively collecting evidence of malicious posts through real-time monitoring.
In its statement, the agency reiterated its zero-tolerance policy for such behavior and vowed to pursue the matter rigorously, with no room for leniency or settlements. With this decision, Big Hit Music aims to protect BTS from targeted harassment and preserve their reputation and rights.
